Study your Notit classes with your MCP client
What you need
- A Notit account and an MCP client that supports remote HTTP servers with OAuth.
- You can connect on any Notit plan. Reading study data with the tools requires Notit Plus or Pro.
- Notit never asks you to paste a token into your MCP client. The connection uses OAuth and shows the permissions before you approve it.
Connect Notit
- Add
https://mcp.notit.ai/mcpas a remote MCP server in your client. - Sign in to Notit when your MCP client opens the authorisation page.
- Review the verified client name, callback host, and requested read permissions. Clear any permission you do not want to grant.
- Select Connect. Return to your MCP client and start asking about your classes.
Read permissions
| Permission | Your MCP client can read |
|---|---|
course:read | Your course list, individual course details, and next course information |
lecture:read | Lecture lists and individual lecture details for your courses |
note:read | StudyPacks, Markdown notes, and search results within a selected StudyPack |
transcript:read | Lecture transcripts, transcript search results, summaries, and keywords |
exam_point:read | Exam points and StudyPack Quick Reviews |
Notit registers only the tools covered by the permissions you approve. The connection cannot create, edit, or delete your Notit data.
How your data is handled
- Your MCP client receives Notit data only when you ask it to use a Notit tool and only within the read permissions you approved.
- The data comes from Notit's first-party API after Notit confirms that the signed-in account owns the requested course or study material.
- OAuth access tokens last up to 1 hour. Rotating refresh tokens last up to 90 days and are invalidated when you disconnect or when reuse is detected.
- Your MCP client provider processes data delivered to the client under its applicable terms and retention policies. Review those settings before sharing especially sensitive class content.
Disconnect
In Notit, open Me → Integrations → MCP settings → Connected apps, then select Disconnect. You can also remove Notit in your MCP client. Disconnecting an OAuth app does not turn off or replace your separately issued manual MCP token.
